A plumber’s main responsibilities include the installation, maintenance and repairs of both plumbing systems like showers, sinks, toilets, and other water-based appliances. 

The Difference

A plumber specialises in water pipes and fixtures, whereas a gas fitter focuses on gas pipes and fixtures. While they do similar work, their areas of expertise are different, which also means that different qualifications and certifications are needed to prove their competency in plumbing and/or gasfitting.
